Creating a safer community for children to thrive!

About Us

Victory Child Empowerment (VCE) Kenya is a Christian-based non-profit organization founded in 2019 through the initiative of Caleb International Ministries, Pennsylvania, Watson Institute, Denver, and the Royal Excellence Centre, Kenya. The organization was formed due to an influx of children into residential care, mushrooming of orphanages and increasing rates of female genital mutilation in the region. VCE was registered in 2021 as a not-for-profit community-based organization in Kisii County, Kenya.
Our Programs

Care Reforms
Care reform is vital for ensuring that children grow up in safe, nurturing families and communities, where their emotional, social, and physical well-being can thrive. We focus on three pillars which include; Family preservation and protection from separation, Alternative care and transitioning of institutional care. We use the case management approach towards ensuring that children in residential care are placed or reintegrated into family-based or community-based care

Empowerment
The youth make up more than one-third of Kenya's population, playing a significant role in the country's labour force. With a sizable young population, Kenya stands to gain substantially from its demographic dividend if its youth are equipped with strong skills and are employable. At Victory child Empowerment, we strive to harness the potential of underprivileged youth by providing them with proper guidance and direction, thereby contributing to economic advancement and nation-building efforts.

Research and innovation
Our research and innovation program is dedicated to improving care reform through data collection, analysis, and presentation. We conduct baseline surveys and use innovative approaches to project learning. Our team is committed to making a positive impact in the field of care.
Core functions
Family Preservation
We believe that every child deserves to grow up in a safe and stable family. Our Family Preservation program works to support families in need and prevent unnecessary family separation.
Child and Family Reintegration
When children are separated from their families, it can have a devastating impact on their well-being. Our Child and Family Reintegration program works to reunite children with their families whenever possible, and provides support to ensure a successful transition.
Alternative Family Care
When family reunification is not possible, we work to ensure that children are placed in safe and loving homes. Our Alternative Family Care program provides support and resources to caregivers, and works to promote a culture of adoption and foster care in the community.
Household Economic Strengthening
We work to provide resources, training, and support to help vulnerable households increase their income, build assets, and improve their financial management skills. By strengthening household economies, we can help families become more self-sufficient and resilient.
Training Caregivers on Parenting Skills
We offer training for caregivers on effective parenting techniques to enhance their relationships with their children. Our program focuses on positive reinforcement to encourage good behavior and active listening to foster open communication. These skills help parents create a supportive and nurturing environment, promoting their children's emotional and social development.
